Return to San Felipe

I drove all day saturday starting out at about 7am, saturday morning. My first task was to clear the windows of the truck from the ice that had formed on it overnight. I tried pouring cold water on it as you do for frost and all that did was make it worse. I used a spatula to scrape  some of the ice off so I could drive to a sunny location and hoped that the sun would melt the ice. It wasn’t working fast enough so I used a credit card to scrape the ice off. The reason I had such a big ice problem is because the heater in the truck didn’t work, I’ll get that repaired in Mexico.

I got to San Felipe about 4:30pm save and sound and tired. In AZ and CA the traffic seemed heavy to me and the rest stops and restaurants were full. Some of the drivers were a little hostile too. When I got to my house I was pleasantly surprise to see all was in order and the new room look very good now to furnish it and arrange the furniture in a pleasing manner. I got to try out the fireplace too. The fire in the place; the wood I used gave me trouble in getting it to light. Also the wood has a strange odor still it looked good burning. Here are some photos of the new room.

Christmas with the family

Here a the family photos this christmas as you can see I’m not the only tall lady in the family one other uncle is missing or he would have been almost as tall as the other one pictured. Happily we all had good time and there were no issues. Dinner was prime rib and it was delicious.

Christmas 2014

Christmas morning has finally arrived. I’m just doing little housework chores until it is time to go to the family dinner. After a respectful amount of time there I’ll return to my house in Vail and start packing for the trip back to San Felipe my real home. I’ll update this post later as things progress through the day.

I did get a couple of things done while here. I got a new ceiling fan installed took down another ceiling fan that wasn’t connected to electricity, that’s why it wouldn’t work! Had the electrician fix a light switch that controlled the lights in the dinning area and kitchen so now they work independently. Several things I wanted to do I didn’t because I couldn’t fit in the budget. The will just have to wait until some other time.

Basically I have been bored for most of this visit. Nice to see how the little kids have grown and to see my family, that took about a day. Had fun shopping, had a doctor visit got new medication and had Thanksgiving dinner with the family. Next year I’ll visit for one holiday and make other visits about every three months. Spending a lot of time in Arizona is not that much fun for me, I would rather be in Mexico with my friends and neighbors.

Below are photos of the Christmas tree and the electrician working on the ceiling fan. I’m glad I called an electrician as the wiring in this house has been messed with by the previous owners and I wouldn’t have had a clue how to fix it correctly.
